Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his American counterpart, Donald Trump, discussed the latest developments in the Libyan dossier by telephone.

Presidential spokesperson Bassam Radi said Sissi recalled Egypt’s firm stance on the Libyan issue, which aims to restore balance between the country’s societal pillars and preserve its national institutions , as well as to prevent an even further deterioration of the security situation.

The Egyptian President has expressed his determination to put an end to the illegal foreign intervention which has only complicated the issue and provoked the escalation, the consequences of which directly affect the security and stability of the entire region.

The American President expressed his deep understanding of the concerns linked to the negative repercussions of the Libyan crisis on the region, and praised the Egyptian efforts which are decisive for the implementation of the subsequent political process.
